Greece announced as Partner Country at 2018 Summer Fancy Food Show
Greece and its food products will be taking center stage at this year’s Summer Fancy Food Show to be held on June 30-July 2 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.
Greece will be participating as a partner country in the annual event which is the largest specialty food industry trade show in North America, and the leading showcase for industry innovation. Participants will have the chance to learn about the latest innovations and best products, make business connections, network with industry peers, and gain insight into specialty food trends.
“We’re excited to have Greece as our partner country for the 2018 Summer Fancy Food Show,” said Phil Kafarakis, president of the Specialty Food Association, organizer of the event.
Greek products to go on show at the Greek pavilion will include olive oil and olive industry byproducts, dairy, honey, marmalades, nuts, and grains.
Greece’s participation is made possible with the support of Enterprise Greece.
“The Fancy Food Show is a sure way to heighten exposure of Greek food products,” said Elias Athanasiou, CEO at Enterprise Greece. “Our participation in the show will reinforce the already strong surge of Greek food and products on specialty food shelves, menus, and in the trade media in the US.”
Enterprise Greece recently held a workshop titled “Understanding the Business of Specialty Foods in the USA” ahead of Greece’s participation in the Fancy Food Show. The workshop took place on Thursday, June 7, at the Electra Metropolis in Athens, with Kafarakis as keynote speaker.
