Greek Tourism Minister Completes US Visit on Positive Note

Greek Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura attended the 19th Annual Capital Link Invest in Greece Forum, which was held earlier this week in New York.
Greek Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura completed her US visit with a series of meetings highlighting the investment opportunities in Greece as well as the growth potential of the tourism sector.
Kountoura met with representatives from the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA), the Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce as well as tour operators and influencers.
It should be noted that Athens will host the ASTA Destination Expo 2018 on April 14-17. The minister met with ASTA President and CEO Zane Kerby, VP Bob Duglin and the association’s board of directors, who said there was a growing number of travel agencies interested in attending the Athens conference next year.
The minister presented the current developments in tourism including stronger connectivity between the US and Greece, the daily year-round Athens-NY route, plans to boost the number of routes in 2018 as well as the ministry’s cooperation with NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo for the promotion of Greece to US crowds.
