Cebu Pacific Air Adds New ATR 72-600 Aircraft to Fleet

Cebu Pacific Air (CEB), a leading carrier in the Philippines, recently took delivery of a brand new ATR 72-600 aircraft, bringing its total fleet size to 62 planes.

The new ATR 72-600 is the eighth of the 16 firm orders the airline made with the Franco-Italian aircraft manufacturer in 2016.

The ATR fleet, used primarily by CEB’s subsidiary Cebgo, supports the expansion of the carrier’s footprint across the Philippines, bringing air connectivity to smaller cities and communities.

Fuel efficient and cost effective, the ATR 72-600 is the most popular choice among the below-90-seat regional aircraft, carrying up to 78 passengers and a maximum load capacity of 7,800 kg. At full load, it can fly up to 900 nautical miles (1,665 km) at trip costs that are 20% lower than those of other in-production turboprops.

The ATR 72-600s also feature the most modern cabin interiors, specifically designed for ATR by the Italian firm Giugiaro, with thinner seats, larger overhead bins and LED lightening for an optimal passenger experience.

The Cebu Pacific fleet is now comprised of two Airbus A319, 36 Airbus A320, eight Airbus A330, eight ATR 72-500, and eight ATR 72-600.

Between 2017 and 2022, CEB expects delivery of 47 brand new aircraft, comprised of seven Airbus A321ceo, 32 Airbus A321neo, and eight ATR 72-600.
