Sympossio 2013 Travels To ITB Berlin
Visitors to ITB Berlin will get a “taste” of Greece as chefs of the “Sympossio Greek Gourmet Touring” initiative will be on call at the stand of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) from 6 to 8 March.
ITB Berlin will be held 6-10 March at the Messe Berlin International Convention Center.
The “Sympossio Greek Gourmet Touring” is an initiative of Aldemar Hotels that aims to promote Greece’s products and gastronomic culture, along with a positive image of the country.
“The Sympossio is an idea that may have been created by Aldemar but only has value if it belongs to all,” Alexandros Angelopoulos, executive director of Aldemar Hotels and organizer of the Sympossio, said.
Sympossio in numbers
The Sympossio initiative kicked off this year in Italy (19-20 February 2013) and for the fourth year travels to Europe to promote Greece’s gastronomic culture.
From 2010-2012, Sympossio, under the aegis of the Hellenic Chef’s Association, Exporters’ Association of Northern Greece-SEVE and the Hellenic Foreign Trade Board:
- visited 37 cities in 9 countries
- traveled 12.300 km
- organized 44 cooking events
- presented 130+ Greek products
- cooked for 2,560 guests
- made 34 synergies with the private and public sectors
