Passenger traffic during July and August at the ports of Piraeus and Lavrio dropped slightly compared to last year, while the port of Rafina reported an increase, according to figures provided by the Greek Coast Guard that run up until 26 August.
The Hellenic Association of Travel and Tourist Agencies (HATTA) recently expressed concern to the Greek Coast Guard in regards to plans to implement identity checks (check-in) of persons that board passenger ships.
Passenger traffic during July and August at the three major ports of Athens (Piraeus, Lavrion and Rafina) did not reach desired expectations despite tempting ticket discounts made by shipping companies to attract passengers, the Greek press said recently.
