‘Sympossio’ Roadshow Event Promotes Greek Gastronomy for 14th Year
Greece’s local products and cuisine were introduced to leading tour operators in six European countries through the Sympossio Greek Gourmet Touring initiative organized by Greek hotel group Aldemar Resorts.
In its 14th year, the gastronomy roadshow, inspired by Aldemar’s managing director, Alexandros Angelopoulos, aimed to contribute to the promotion of Greece’s image abroad and boost tourism growth.
“Sympossio successfully completed this year’s cycle of events abroad, further expanding its long route that counts a total of over 250 events, presence in 70 European cities, and hosting over 5,000 guests,” the group’s management said in an announcement.
Greek pies on Sympossio 2024 menu
The Sympossio gastronomy event this year was dedicated to Greek pies, “a special chapter of Greek gastronomy that has a rich history and a strong timelessness”.
Greek pies were showcased in cities in the UK, Slovakia, Romania, the Czech Republic, Poland and Italy.
At the Sympossio events, guests sampled Greek recipes prepared during interactive cooking courses and workshops under the guidance of the Executive Chef of Aldemar Resorts Group, George Hatzopoulos.
Having managed to create some of the largest synergies between private and public entities, Sympossio 2024 had the support of AEGEAN Airlines, the Region of Western Greece, the Region of Crete, and the ELLA DIKA MAS initiative. Sponsors of this year’s event included Ilios Pasta Industry, Panagiotis Dakos Mills, Brintziki Estate, Voliotis Family A.E., and Douros Bio Farm.
Sympossio was held under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HCH), having by its side hoteliers, trade businesses and local producers from different regions of Greece.
