Skiathos Joins Forces with Cyprus Airways to Boost Tourism
The Municipality of Skiathos announced this week that it had partnered with Cyprus Airways as part of its strategic plan to boost tourist flows to the island.
The news comes after similar initiatives earlier this year with TUI and Jet2.
The municipality will be working together with Cyprus Airways through a joint advertising program to promote Skiathos as a prime tourist destination to Cypriot travelers.
The campaign includes online marketing actions on Cyprus Airways’ website, blog posts, an island guide and targeted mails to partners and tourist agents.
“The Municipality of Skiathos continues its systematic and dynamic promotion of the island through important collaborations with international tourism groups. Our cooperation with Cyprus Airways aims to establish Skiathos on the Cypriot tourist market and to strengthen the flow of visitors from a very significant tourist market for Skiathos,” said the island’s mayor Thodoris Tzoumas.
Under the agreement, Cyprus Airways will carry out direct flights to Skiathos from Larnaca twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
“The cooperation between Cyprus Airways and the Municipality of Skiathos not only aims to enhance travel opportunities but also to promote a meaningful exchange of ideas, culture and experiences between the two destinations,” said Cyprus Airways in a statement.
Cyprus’ flag carrier, Cyprus Airways resumed operations in 2016 and currently services 18 destinations to Europe and the Middle East out of Larnaca. It runs regular flights to Athens, Santorini, Skiathos, Rhodes, and Heraklion (Crete) in Greece.
APG Hellas SA is the General Sales Agent (GSA) of Cyprus Airways in Greece.
