Greece Welcomes Displaced Ukrainians, Launches Special Info Website

The Greek Ministry of Migration and Asylum has launched a website with useful information for Ukrainians fleeing the war and seeking refuge in Greece.

Following a ministerial decision (press here to see in Greek), Greece has activated the temporary protection regime for displaced persons from Ukraine and is granting them residence, medical care and work permits for at least one year.

The Greek decision follows the decision of the Council of the European Union announced on March 4.

According to the decision, Ukrainian nationals, as well as third country nationals or stateless persons benefiting from international protection in Ukraine and their family members will benefit from temporary protection if they resided in Ukraine before or on 24 February 2022.

The Greek ministry’s new website has useful information for Ukrainians arriving through the airport or by road and includes information on temporary protection and accommodation. The website is in Ukrainian, English and Greek.

Press here to enter the website.

It should be noted that Ukrainian citizens entering Greece on flights from abroad are exempt from filling out the Passenger Locator Form (PLF) before their trip, according to an announcement by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA).
