Qatar Airways’ Airbus A350-1000 Lands in Athens for First Time

Athens International Airport (AIA), on Saturday, July 14, for the first time welcomed Qatar Airways’ Airbus A350-1000, a state-of-the-art aircraft, which serviced the airline’s Athens-Doha route.

According to an announcement, Qatar Airways is the first airline ever to bring the world’s most technologically advanced passenger aircraft to Greece for a one-off visit.

The Airbus A350-1000 is also the first Airbus that features the airline’s award-winning Business Class seat, Qsuite, and offers a First Class experience in Business Class for both business and leisure travelers, “bringing to the travellers the very latest in aerodynamics, design and advanced technology”.

The A350-1000 offers a total of 327 seats across two cabins, with 46 award-winning Qsuite Business Class seats and 281 18-inch extra wide Economy Class seats.

“We are proud to be the first airline to fly our Airbus A350-1000 to Greece, for a special one-off flight,” Theresa Cissell, Qatar Airways Country Manager for Greece and Cyprus, said.

The aircraft also offers enhanced levels of passenger comfort, thanks to the lowest twin engine noise level of any aircraft, advanced air conditioning technology and full LED mood lighting.

“This remarkable aircraft is able to provide a significant increase in capacity on one of our most popular routes, offering enhanced levels of comfort for our passengers,” Cissell said, adding that the airline strives to provide passengers with the most advanced aircraft to fly in comfort and style.

“Our new A350-1000 provides this in abundance,” she added.

Qatar Airways already flies the ultra-modern Airbus A350-900 to its Athens route providing the utmost travel experience and allowing travelers to enjoy unprecedented levels of comfort and innovation that will meet their demands.

The airline operates three daily flights from and to Athens and four weekly flight to Thessaloniki. In late May, the airline began operating a new seasonal route from and to Mykonos, adding a third destination to the country, which will operate four flights per week until October 14.

Qatar Airways this year was announced ‘Airline of the Year’ at the prestigious 2017 Skytrax World Airline Awards.
