Greek ‘Breakfast Basket’ to Debut at SETKE Congress
The Greek “Breakfast Basket” initiative will premiere during the 2nd Greek Confederation of Tourist Accommodation Enterprises (SETKE) congress to be held on November 26 within the Xenia 2017 hospitality show at the Metropolitan Expo.
“This new idea invites our guests to sample local products from small producers of the area they are visiting, offering them a chance to discover the gastronomic treasures of Greece,” said SETKE President Panagiotis Tokouzis regarding the “Breakfast Basket” initiative.
Scheduled to officially launch in 2018, the “Breakfast Basket” will be overseen by chef Konstantinos Mouzakis and aims to contribute to the upgrade of services and the promotion of local products offered at hospitality units.
The initiative, jointly organized by SETKE, the Chef Club of the Dodecanese & the Cyclades and the South Aegean Region, comes in the footsteps of the “Aegean Breakfast Basket”, which promotes the breakfast choices of the South Aegean islands.
The “Aegean Breakfast Basket” is an initiative of the South Aegean Region, which aims to link the primary sector with tourism and to strengthen the small producers of each South Aegean island separately.
The 2nd SETKE congress will also address issues affecting Greek accommodation enterprises and aims to serve as a ground of exchange.
