Low cost carrier Ryanair will operate nine routes in total from its base in Athens next summer, the airline’s deputy director of route development, Kate Sherry, informed the media on 17 September during a press conference in the Greek capital.

The Athens 2015 summer schedule of Ryanair includes three new routes to Brussels Charleroi, Rome Ciampino and Warsaw, as well as increased frequencies on three other routes.

Since last April, the airline has been operating six routes from Athens Airport to Chania, London Stansted, Milan Bergamo, Paphos, Rhodes and Thessaloniki.

Next summer, Ryanair will operate extra flights to London Stansted (one to two daily), Milan Bergamo (seven to 10 weekly) and Thessaloniki (five to six daily).

According to Ms. Sherry, the nine routes will annually deliver over 1.3 million new customers to Greece (1.7 million in total) and support 1,700 on-site jobs at Athens Airport with up to 126 weekly return flights.

The airline will launch its summer schedule in April 2015, three months earlier than the 2014 schedule was launched.

In addition, Ryanair has announced seats for sale across its European network, at low prices for travel in October, November and December.

The low fare seats are available for booking until midnight Monday 22 September.
