Greece_All_Time ClassicAlternate Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura is expected to visit Berlin on the occasion of ITB and hold meetings with representatives of major tour operators and journalists.

According to reports, the alternate tourism minister will focus on promoting Greece as a 12-month destination.

On Tuesday, March 3, the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) and Marketing Greece will hold a press conference at the International Congress Center of ITB Berlin. There they will present the Greek tourism product as the key driver of the country’s economy, bolstered by an unprecedented spirit of collaboration from the private and state sector.

“To further develop Germany as Greece’s leading tourism market and build on the countries’ longstanding relationship, we highlight Greece’s unique tourism portfolio, bringing you the undiscovered and authentic Greece and a commitment to supporting local communities and their economies,” SETE and Marketing Greece said in an announcement.

GNTO: Join us on a fascinating journey full of unique experiences!

ITB_Greece_on_a_dishThe Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) — together with its 70 co-exhibitors — invites all to visit the Greek stand at 2.2/101, become familiar with Greece’s tourism products and participate in a number of exciting events. “An amazing destination with hospitable people is ready to welcome you,” the GNTO said in an announcement.

Every day from 12 noon until 2pm, top Greek chefs will prepare culinary delights with regional ingredients and unravel the secrets of Greek gastronomy.

Also, every day between 1 and 2 pm short films of the Greek islands of the Northern Aegean will be screened and viewers will have the opportunity to sample a great variety of local products.

On Thursday, March 5, at 4pm, Expedia will announce the winner of the “Best Tourism Board Campaign”.

On Saturday, March 7, a caricaturist will be at the Greek stand. “Take a look at yourself in a humorous way and keep this an everlasting memory of your visit in our stand,” the GNTO says.

A prize draw will take place on Sunday, March 8, at 1:30 pm, and a lucky winner will be given a free hotel stay in Greece.

The GNTO also informs that with a “kiss from Paxos” at ITB 2015, a dream may come true. A contest will take place at the Greek stand and the main prize will be an unforgettable trip for two to the idyllic Greek island of Paxos.
