Greece Looks to Attract Swedish Tourists All Year Round
Ways to strengthen the tourism relations between Greece and Sweden were the focus of a recent meeting in Athens between Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni and Swedish Ambassador to Greece, Johan Borgstam.
Among the main issues discussed was the general promotion of Greece as an attractive tourism destination for Swedish tourists to visit during the whole year and not only for summer vacation.
Moreover, the two sides agreed to further boost cooperation on issues related to the promotion of sustainable tourism and in particular ecological/nature tourism. The importance of Greek gastronomy as a beneficial factor for tourism was also highlighted.
The minister and ambassador also discussed the use of new digital tools such as artificial intelligence (AI) in the tourism sector and looked into the possibility for the exchange of know-how between Greece and Sweden.
Kefalogianni’s meeting with the Swedish Ambassador is part of the Tourism Ministry’s strategy to boost tourism relations with different countries and attract more arrivals to Greece. Last month, the minister met with the ambassadors of Switzerland and Albania to enhance ties.
