GNTO and MasterCard Team Up to Promote Greece
The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) announced this week that it had once again teamed up with MasterCard to promote Greece through joint initiatives and actions.
The agreement was signed in London this week by GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis and MasterCard Country Manager for Greece, Cyprus, and Malta Panagiotis Polydoros, during the World Travel Market (WTM) and comes after previous partnerships with MasterCard.
The new collaboration foresees co-advertising actions; upgrading the “Visit Greece” application; providing travel trends data through the “Tourism Insights” platform aimed at offering insights into visitor preferences; and expanding the GNTO’s participation in MasterCard Tourism Innovation Hub, an initiative aimed at promoting innovation and sustainability in the tourism sector.
“This agreement confirms the strategic relationship between the GNTO and MasterCard and paves the way for new paths for Greek tourism internationally. Investment in innovation, new technologies and statistical data are decisive factors for the promotion of Greek tourism. In a constantly changing environment, our cooperation is a guarantee for the results we want to bring in the immediate future,” said Fragakis.
“For us at MasterCard, supporting Greece’s tourism industry is a strategic priority, considering its importance as a pillar of development of the Greek economy. We are delighted to expand our strategic partnership with the GNTO,” said Polydoros.
He went on to add that MasterCard will continue to invest in the promotion of the Greek tourism product and offer know-how and experience in data analysis contributing in this way to the transition of the Greek tourism sector to the new digital era.
