Costa Navarino Named World’s Best Golf Venue for 2023
Costa Navarino, situated in the picturesque Peloponnese region of Greece, won several distinctions at the World Golf Awards 2023 ceremony held recently in Abu Dhabi.
In its 10th year, the event served as a grand gathering, uniting luminaries, pioneers, and influential figures from the world of golf. The occasion recognized the finest golf establishments and marked the culmination of a year-long quest to identify the world’s most beloved golf tourism and hospitality brands.
Under the ownership of TEMES SA, Costa Navarino clinched two prestigious titles for 2023: World’s Best Golf Venue and Europe’s Best Eco-Friendly Golf Facility.
At the national level, Costa Navarino and its International Olympic Academy Golf Course were heralded as Greece’s Best Golf Course of 2023. Additionally, the Westin Resort Costa Navarino was also honored with the title of Greece’s Best Golf Hotel 2023.
Located in Messinia, Costa Navarino offers a world-class golf experience with its four 18-hole signature golf courses – The Dunes Course, The Bay Course, and two layouts at Navarino Hills, The Hills Course and the award-winning International Olympic Academy Golf Course, all within a 13km maximum distance, with contrasting natural landscape and sea views.
Costa Navarino also features three five-star hotels across distinct resort areas, 27 dining venues, state-of-the-art sports facilities, world-class spas and a wealth of authentic experiences connecting guests to the region’s culture, history and nature.
During the 10th World Golf Awards, Australian golfing legend-turned-designer Greg Norman was named Golf Course Designer of the Year, while Serapong Course at Singapore’s Sentosa Golf Club emerged victorious by taking the coveted title of the World’s Best Golf Course.
Portugal also enjoyed a strong showing, winning the title of the World’s Best Golf Destination, and the Algarve’s Quinta do Lago – South Course claiming Europe’s Best Golf Course.
“Abu Dhabi hosted a magnificent gathering of the global golf tourism industry to mark our 10th anniversary of recognizing excellence in golf tourism. We have had the privilege of recognizing the leading golf courses, hotels, resorts, designers and tour operators from across the world and my congratulations to each of them,” said World Golf Awards Managing Director Chris Frost.
Launched in 2014, World Golf Awards aims to drive up standards within the golf tourism industry by rewarding the organizations that are leaders in their field.
Votes are cast by professionals working within the golf industry and by the public (golf tourism consumers).
