Ferry Strike in Greece to Continue on Thursday, April 19
Ferries in Greece will continue to remain docked on Thursday, April 19, as the Panhellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) has announced a new 24-hour strike.
Ferry services throughout Greece have been suspended since Wednesday morning due to industrial action taken by PNO in protest of a Shipping Ministry decision that allows cargo ships to sail with the minimum number of crew required for safe manning. According to PNO, the ministry’s decision threatens jobs.
Travelers that have booked ferry tickets are advised to check with their travel agents or contact local port authorities for further information.
