Greece to Host Major Int’l Tourism Events in 2018
Greece is getting ready to host two major international tourism events in 2018, Greek Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura announced on Monday during the World Travel Market (WTM) London 2017.
While informing the press that the Tourism Ministry has focused on strengthening Greece’s prominent role in tourism globally and enhanced cooperation with international institutions and bodies, Minister Kountoura announced that:
– in October 2018, Greece and the city of Thessaloniki will host the 8th UNWTO International Meeting on Silk Road Tourism.
– in March 2018, Greece will host the 6th World Tourism Forum Lucerne Think Tank in Costa Navarino in the Peloponnese.
8th UNWTO International Meeting on Silk Road Tourism – Thessaloniki
The 8th UNWTO International Meeting on Silk Road Tourism is the UNWTO’s biggest biennial event and will be hosted in Thessaloniki, following the successful winning of a tender process by the Region of Central Macedonia, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and Thessaloniki Convention Bureau.
Attended by over 25 Silk Road countries, the forum is an important event for Ministers, high level officials and experts to debate challenges and accord opportunities for successfully developing tourism along the maritime and continental Silk Road.
6th World Tourism Forum Lucerne Think Tank – Messinia
The 2018 event of the World Tourism Forum Lucerne Think Tank will take place in Costa Navarino Messina.
