Eastern Halkidiki’s sailing, diving and cruising offerings are set to be promoted through the Dodeka initiative aimed at attracting tourism all year round to the region.
Launched by the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Tourist & Travel Agencies (FEDHATTA), the Dodeka action plan is an innovative initiative of Greece’s travel agents. Translating into “Twelve”, the action plan includes thematic and special interest activities for every month of the year aiming to extend the country’s tourism season.
In collaboration with FedHATTA and the Mount Athos Area Organization, within the “Travel the World” project, Eastern Halkidiki takes center stage with activities and initiatives promoting 12 alternative forms of tourism through the Dodeka action plan.
Pilgrimage tours, wellness holidays, customs and traditions, monuments and archaeological sites, nature and special trail hikes are among the among the forms promoted. The first suggestion for the Eastern Halkidiki region focuses on sailing, diving and cruising, with the campaign to be presented in Amsterdam and Rome next year.
