Greece Focuses on Quality Tourism
Greece has made a shift towards tourism service quality, Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni said on Friday, 7 November, while giving a speech during the European InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) conference held in Athens. The conference, considered one of the most significant events of the Group, was held for the first time in Athens from 3 to 7 November at the Hotel Athenaeum Intercontinental.
Mrs. Kefalogianni noted the positive fact of Athens hosting a conference that has a global reach in the tourism industry. The theme of the conference was “Shaping our Future” and it was attended by owners, general managers and senior executives of the Group’s hotels.
“Without abandoning the elements that have established us as a global tourism destination, today, we are reforming our tourism product, emphasizing the enrichment level of services and improvement of quality,” the tourism minister said. Mrs. Kefalogianni noted that Greece’s tourism figures justify the choices made and provide conditions for higher growth in the coming years.
