Beijing: Greek Sculpture Donated To National Center For The Performing Arts
The Greek sculpture “Endless Sailing” was donated today, Thursday, 16 May, to the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing by the Embassy of Greece and Greek visual artist Vangelis Rinas.
The sculpture “Endless Sailing” is a chinese tale, carved on a wooden sculpture-dreamcraft, which talks about two girls and symbolizes the parallel course of both countries and the bonding friendship between the two cultures.
The ceremony took place on the sidelines of the Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras’ official visit to China.
The Greek premier arrived in China on 15 May and is accompanied by some 50 Greek entrepreneurs.
During his visit, Mr. Samaras is expected to sign a series of bilateral and business agreements in an aim to turn Greece into a gateway to Europe.
His agenda of discussions in China will include issues of transport, energy, privatization, shipping and tourism.
