New Tourism and Property Exhibition Set for May
From 18 to 21 May 2007 the first international exhibition on tourist property and holiday homes, “Tourism & Property 2007,” will open its doors at the Hellenikon exhibition space (the former Athens East Airport). This is the first such tourist real estate exhibition to be held in Greece.
The event is being organized by Real Travel, which is the first media group to become active in the tourist development and real estate sectors in Greece.
Panos Skliamis, managing director of the new Tourism and Property exhibition, says the principal objective is to bring together Greek and foreign public and private businesses and investors on the one hand, and tourism and real estate professionals in the wider Southeast European area.
“The aim is to internationally promote Greek holiday homes as a means of lengthening the tourist season and attracting a better clientele to the country,” he says.”Greece has no choice but to improve tourist product and search for effective tourism promotion methods.”
Mr. Skliamis, believes that this event organized by Real Travel will provide the missing link that will channel the potential of Greek businesses by providing a standard of reference. He added that this fair comes at a time when the tourism sector seeks improved prospects from cooperation with the real estate sector.
Vicky Magoulioti, commercial manager for Real Travel, says the exhibition is being promoted at a national and international level, using all the modern means of communication available: television, radio, the printed press, the Internet and out-door advertising.
She says there will be parallel events on the sidelines of the exhibition and on the day prior to the official inauguration, there will be a one-day seminar in which speakers will analyse the present and future of the Greek holiday homes business.
“The first international ‘Tourism and Property’ exhibition of 2007 is being taken notice of long before its official announcement. Tourism and real estate businesses have come out in support of this first outward looking and organized effort to professionally present Greek holiday homes,” she says.
The exhibition will be held under the auspices of: the Tourism Development Ministry, the Hotel Chamber of Greece, and the global real estate club.
The organizers insist that the exhibition will draw thousands of visitors because, besides the large-scale investment projects to be presented, there will be representatives from many smaller gems of property hidden away all over Greece.
As well, they say that this presentation of Greek holiday homes will be accompanied by the presence of key players in the Greek real estate business. “The “Tourism & Property 2007″ exhibition will set the pace of a sector that will be highly important for Greece.”
To promote tourism property in Greece, Real Travel says that it will be using a unified communications strategy that involves the use of a daily website (www.t-p.gr) and a monthly bilingual feature magazine (Tourism & Property) on sale at newsstands, and to be distributed to all 1,170 FIABCI members worldwide.
