Athens Airport Welcomes Royal Jordanian’s New Embraer E195-E2 Aircraft
Royal Jordanian, the national carrier of Jordan, recently introduced its new Embraer 195 E2 Jet aircraft to passengers at Athens International Airport (AIA).
The aircraft and its specifications were presented to passengers during a small welcome event at the Athens airport gate. Passengers were also treated to Jordanian traditional sweets, offered by the RJ Athens sales staff.
The Embraer 195 E2 offers 2+2 seating, no middle seats, and offers great comfort in economy class. In business class, the aircraft offers impressive legroom of 135 cm.
The new aircraft also features extra-large overhead bins, ambient lighting, and leather seats.
Passengers can enjoy wireless Wi-Fi connectivity, streaming entertainment, and backrest mounts for personal electronics.
Compared to its predecessor, the E2 is 63 percent quieter and thanks to its aerodynamic improvements, it achieves double-digit lower fuel consumption compared to the current generation of E-jets.
Royal Jordanian took delivery of its first two E195-E2s in late January. The two aircraft are the first of eight E2 regional jets due to join the airline’s fleet. The E195-E2s will gradually replace and grow Royal Jordanian’s current regional jet fleet, which comprises two E175s and two E195s.
“The E2 family of aircraft will support our strategic aims, complementing our larger narrowbody aircraft by matching capacity to demand, reducing operating costs and carbon emissions, while delivering a significant upgrade to passenger experience and comfort,” said Samer Majali, Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of Royal Jordanian Airlines, when the company received the first two E195-E2s.
