Greece’s Subsidized Vacation Scheme Accepting Applications
The application process for Greece’s “Tourism for All 2024” program, which subsidizes holidays for lower-income Greeks and their families, opens on Thursday with an April 1 deadline.
For the first time, the digital voucher will cover holiday costs of up to 400 euros for eligible Greek citizens.
Applications should be submitted here as of Thursday with the use of Taxisnet code, tax number (AFM), e-mail address and telephone number. Once approved, eligible parties will be able to issue a special debit card to make charges.
Under the renewed program, the voucher sum has increased to 200 euros from 150 euros which can be used in total or in installments until December 2024. The scheme is also more inclusive offering vouchers to pensioners under all insurance funds, married or civil union couples with three or more children, and to single and widowed individuals with children; and doubles the amount granted to people with disabilities or families with disabled children from 200 euros to 400 euros.
The updated “Tourism for All” scheme is aimed at supporting families and tourism enterprises towards a more sustainable future,” said Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni.
Also commenting on the program, Deputy Tourism Minister Elena Rapti said it was also aimed at extending tourist activity beyond the traditional summer months and increasing in tourism activity at remote destinations.
