Athens Development and Destination Management Agency Names New CEO
The Athens Development and Destination Management Agency (ADDMA) recently announced that Ioannis Georgizas has been appointed as new chief executive officer. He took the helm from Epameinondas Mousios who had been the agency’s CEO since October 2022.
For more than 15 years, Georgizas has served as an executive of the Management Organization Unit of the Ministry of Development.
He has been the project manager for several public and private IT projects as well as for projects related to sustainable development, energy conservation and circular economy and has gained valuable experience as a project manager of European programs.
Georgizas has also served as a consultant to the Secretary General of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece. He is the General Director of “Sustainable City”, a network of cities in Greece and Cyprus.
Georgizas graduated from the department of Physics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He holds a Master’s degree in Information Technology and in Business Administration (MBA).
Also known as EATA in Greek, ADDMA is the Greek capital’s DMO and operates the Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB), the city’s official tourism board.
The agency recently announced that it is changing its legal form to become a Local Government Development Organization, which will help it implement projects for Athens without delays.
