Athens Tourism on Agenda of Mayor, Greek Travel Agents

Athens Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis recently met with a Federation of Hellenic Associations of Tourist & Travel Agencies (FedHATTA) delegation to discuss the upgrade of the city’s tourism product.
The meeting’s main agenda was to discuss ways to strengthen tourist flows in Athens without negatively affecting the everyday life of the Greek capital’s permanent residents.
A wide range of topics were also covered during the meeting, including the completion of the Panepistimiou Street redevelopment project, the further development of pedestrian areas, and the availability of parking spaces for tourist buses.

FedHATTA welcomed the progress that has been made, like the offering of the “Dora Stratou” theater car park for tourist bus parking to better accommodate the city’s main archaeological site.
The association also requested the Mayor’s assistance in solving other problems that affect the tourism industry, like the need for more accessible transportation options.
The meeting was also attended by Athens Development and Destination Management Agency (ADDMA) General Manager Epaminondas Mousios while FedHATTA was represented by its President, Lyssandros Tsilidis, and the Secretary General of FedHATTA and President of HATTA, Nikolas Kelaidis.
