Greece has emerged victorious at two major tourism award events in Great Britain and the USA, confirming its position as one of the world’s most popular travel destinations.
In London, Greece was named “Favorite All-Round Holiday Destination” among British travel agents at the recent inaugural Travel Gossip Awards.
Greece stood out among other popular destinations in the same category, including the Canary Islands, Dubai, Spain and Turkey.
The awards were organized by Travel Gossip, UK’s leading travel information platform, in collaboration with tourism industry leading companies such as Gold Medal, Pure Luxury, Cruise Plus, and Incredible Journeys.
Accepting the “Favorite All-Round Holiday Destination” award, Eleni Skarveli, Head of the Greek National Tourism Organization’s (GNTO) UK & Ireland branch, thanked all British travel agents for recognizing the unique travel experiences Greece offers.
Moreover, at the same award show, Halkidiki in northern Greece was a finalist in the awards’ “Favorite Hidden Gem Destination” category, with the Ikos/Sani Resort, located in the area, winning first prize in the “Favorite Hotel & Resort Brand” category.

2023 Wherever Awards
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, Greece won the first prize in the “Best Family-Friendly Multigenerational Destination of the Year” category at the annual American Wherever Awards, organized by the coveted publishing company FXExpress Publications.
The award followed last year’s runner up position for Greece in the same category, confirming the ever-increasing interest of American tourists in the country.
