University of Western Macedonia to Host its 1st TEDx Event
The University of Western Macedonia will host its first ever TEDx event on May 18.
The independent event will be exclusively student-run and it will take place in the city of Kozani at the new campus of the University of Western Macedonia in Zep Kozani.
TEDx, launched in 2006 by TED Conferences, LLC, an American-Canadian non-profit media organization, is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED (technology, entertainment and design) experience usually in the form of short, powerful talks, often called “TED talks”.
A TEDx event runs under the slogan “ideas worth spreading” and can cover almost all topics with more than 13,000 such events having been held in at least 150 countries to date.
TEDx University of Western Macedonia will run under the title “Ideas from the Future” and will host presentations and speeches from the founder of Simply Digital Konstantinos Synodinos; mechanical engineer and member of the globally – recognized Prom Racing NTUA FSAE team Natassa Andritsaki; and child psychologist and founder of Kidnest Ioannis Glossopoulos, among others.
Furthermore, the event will focus on enriching the dialogue about the future of innovation, circular economy and societal development and will also include workshops, exhibitions and performances.
Participants of the University of Western Macedonia’s TEDx event will have the opportunity to see the “keynote speakers” through the point of view of different individuals and to reflect on what their role is as individuals is and can be.
According to the event’s organizers, TEDx University of Western Macedonia aims to become a platform that will explore the latest and most cutting-edge ideas from the future, expand horizons and connect like-minded individuals who share similar values and ideas.
