Irish Tourists Opt for Holidays on the Greek Islands
The Greek islands are among the Top 10 Fly ‘N’ Flop Destinations for Irish travelers in 2023, according to the Irish Independent’s Reader Travel Awards.
Boasting a history of 110 years, the Irish Independent is the best-selling newspaper in Ireland, while its news website is the most popular in the country.
Nominations for the annual Reader Travel Awards are chosen by its readers, while after the top nominees are tallied a judging panel of experts adjudicates on the readers’ shortlist, choosing the final winners and runners-up.
The Greek islands ranked sixth on Ireland’s Top 10 Fly ‘N’ Flop Destinations for 2023 list, which saw Lanzarote, the fourth biggest Canary Island, winning the top spot.
The newspaper notes that Lanzarote has been a popular holiday destination for Irish travelers for generations and is preferred for its easy access, good weather, ideal sun-sea combination and value for money accommodation and dining options.
