Greece Ready to Launch Subsidized ‘Tourism for All’ Scheme
Greek Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias announced that the annual “Tourism for All” scheme subsidizing holidays for lower income Greeks and their families would soon be accepting applications.
Under the program, eligible parties will receive a voucher worth 150 euros which in addition to hotels and transport, can this year be used at restaurants and cafes.
Interested parties can apply here once the portal opens using their tax (Taxisnet) codes and tax identification numbers (AFM).
Once approved, eligible parties will receive the digital voucher on their smart phones.
Who is eligible for state subsidized holidays in Greece?
According to the ministry:
– individuals with an income of up to 16,000 euros
– families with an income of up to 28,000 euros
– married couples with one child with an income of up to 29,500 euros
– married couples with two children with an income of up to 31,000 euros.
Should there be more applications that the available budget for the program, vouchers will be distributed based on a lottery system.
According to Deputy Tourism Minister Sofia Zacharaki, this year’s “Tourism for All” program will subsidize the holidays of some 200,000 people.
