Le Monde Wins 2nd Prize at Trophée Mille International 2022 Gastronomy Contest
Le Monde, the Institute of Hotel Tourism Studies, won the second prize at the Trophée Mille International 2022 gastronomy contest that was held recently in France.
Trophée Mille recognizes young apprentice chefs of schools from all over the world. The contest is open to hospitality and culinary institutions specializing in training level four and five students.
Trophée Mille International 2022 took place for the 11th consecutive year in Reims, France, on March 28, with participants from all over the world.
Le Monde won second place with students Athanasia Skiada and Christoforos Nakos who created two dishes with products from the Grand Est region and impressed the judges with their gastronomy combinations and professionalism. Trophée Mille’s judges included French chefs that hold Michelin stars and the MOF (Meilleur Ouvrier de France) title.
Responsible for the contestants’ preparation were Le Monde’s Makis Kalosakas and Haris Psilopoulos who head the institute’s cooking and confectionery departments, as well as professor Gikas Xenakis.
Le Monde specializes in hospitality, tourism and gastronomy studies, offering high-level vocational training and lifelong learning programs as well as university programs for obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management.
The institute is a certified member of the World Tourism Organization, the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE), the EuroCHRIE (European Council of Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Education) and WACS (World Association of Chefs’ Societies).
