Greek-German Chamber Appoints Grigoris Tasios as Chairman of Tourism Committee

Greek tourism professional Grigoris Tasios has been appointed as the new chairman of the Tourism & Culture Committee of the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He will succeed Ian Hay, Head of the TUI Group for Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, Malta, Middle East, Lapland and Iceland.

A renowned hotelier in the Greek tourism sector, Tasios is the president of the Hellenic Hoteliers Federation.

“Mr. Tasios, having many years of experience in the tourism market, as well as a multitude of distinctions, will seek to add value to the committee by preparing, together with its members, a series of actions to highlight and communicate the new business models that appear in the sector,” the chamber said in an announcement.

The chamber added that the new chairman and the committee’s members, in their aim to expand the economic cooperation channel between Greece and Germany, will also look to attract investments.

On his part, Tasios thanked the chamber for their support and trust and said he is honored to have been elected as chairman of the chamber’s Tourism & Culture Committee.

“The Germans, as the first nationality in arrivals in Greece, are a key pillar of inbound tourism and a decisive force for the recovery of the economy, but also for the promotion of alternative forms of tourism from one end of our country to the other,” Tasios said.
