Attica Governor Activates Health Protection Hotline for Tourists and Residents

Greek residents and tourists in Attica with questions or concerns about the current conditions concerning the wildfires and about protecting their health from exposure to smoke can now call a hotline to get guidelines.

Attica Governor George Patoulis recently activated the region’s operational center’s public health protection 1110 helpline is and urging residents and tourists who are in Attica to protect themselves from the wildfire smoke, use a mask or reduce outdoor activities when the levels of particulates in the air are high. He is also inviting invites them to stay up-to-date on current conditions and follow official guidelines.

“We are aimed at protecting travelers’ health, so we strongly recommend tourists and visitors in Attica Region to follow precautions to reduce their exposure to smoke and ash,” the governor said.

Residents and tourists may call the four-digit number 1110 for free.

“The helpline 1110 has been activated to give special precautionary instructions to citizens, as well as tourists in Attica during the current days,” Patoulis said, adding that travelers should check the regional air quality reports.
