Santorini’s Grace Hotel Launches Gastronomy Experiences at Santoro Restaurant

The Santoro Restaurant of the Grace Hotel Santorini, Auberge Resorts Collection has announced the launch of unique culinary experiences this summer for both travelers and Santorini locals.

The brand new experiences at Santoro will include private clifftop dining, a bespoke Full Moon menu, immersive wine pairing and the first Santoro Tea Extravaganza.

  • The ultimate tasting menu

A new tasting menu by Consultant Executive Chef Jean-Charles Métayer will feature signature dishes including Symi island shrimps, lobster in herb ravioli, turbot with beetroot mousse and tuna, and lamb with parsnip puree and artichoke confit. Contemporary renditions of traditional Mediterranean cuisine form the backbone of the dining philosophy at Grace Hotel, from langoustinesSaganaki to cylinder of Fava.

Chef Métayer alongside Head Chef Yiannis Koutsoperakis source only the best authentic Greek ingredients – from Santorini’s special range of vegetables to Assyrtiko, one of Greece’s finest white wines found only on the island.

  • Private clifftop dining

Alongside the new innovative French twist on classic Mediterranean cuisine, Santoro is introducing private clifftop dining for intimate guest moments. Available on the 363 Champagne Lounge terrace, the bespoke experience offers ultimate privacy overlooking the caldera or guests can luxuriate in uninterrupted views of the cliffs over dinner in one of the two alcoves.

A private chef is on call to craft a personalised menu for special occasions.

  • Bespoke full moon festival menu

Santoro Restaurant will present a journey through the Mediterranean’s most celebrated cuisines via the Full Moon Festival on 24 July. An explosion of flavours and culinary techniques will bring together French flair, Italian charm and Greek passion in a mystical experience under the full moon sky.

Guests can savour Mediterranean dishes with a French touch – such as lamb in pistachio crust served with topinambours and thyme sauce – and enjoy local wine.

  • The Santoro tea extravaganza

Grace Hotel will host The Santoro Tea Extravaganza each afternoon where guests can select from a cup of mint, lemon verbena, pure peace or greek mountain tea paired with a choice of pastries including spinach tarts, chocolate bites, lobster brioches and freshly baked honey muffins.

  • Exclusive wine pairing with local vineyard

Finally, Santoro Restaurant is partnering with local winery Boutaris to host an immersive pairing event. Guests can learn the art of pairing, with a selection of fine wines alongside the carefully crafted menu of John Dory in brioche crust, lamb fillet with leek cannelloni and chocolate sphere.

The event will take place on 7 August.

The Santoro Restaurant is part of the 21-room Grace Hotel Santorini, the first European property of Auberge Resorts Collection, an intimate cliff-top sanctuary marked by whitewashed abodes, with views of cobalt-domed churches, and black- and red-sand beaches.
