Greece’s Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis took to Instagram on Saturday to send a message to the Greeks that it is absolutely necessary to observe the country’s protection measures against the coronavirus (Covid-19), after the significant increase in cases recorded recently in the country.

PM Mitsotakis posted a photo in which he is wearing a mask with the Greek flag, along with the message: “We wear a mask, keep our distances, wash our hands and avoid crowding. Because in order to stay safe we must be alert!”

The PM’s post on Instagram follows the government’s announcement of a series of new measures being put in place in order to curb the recent spike in Covid-19 cases. For the whole month of August, the wearing of a face mask is mandatory in all indoor areas in Greece, while there is also a recommendation to wear one outdoors, when keeping distances can not be followed.
