Polish Market Meets Psiloritis Natural Park on Crete

Mount Psiloritis, Crete

Aiming to promote the alternative tourism options and hospitality of Crete to Polish travelers, the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) recently held a fam trip for Polish tour operators, bloggers and journalists to the Psiloritis Natural Park in Heraklion.

Crete’s highest mountain, Psiloritis is considered ideal for a wide range of cultural, sports and environmental activities.

Organized as part of GNTO’s strategic plan to promote Greece’s alternative tourism products throughout the year, the aim of the fam trip was to showcase the “endless” cultural and natural offerings of the Psiloritis park, which is an attractive but lesser-known destination for Polish travelers.

“The Psiloritis Natural Park meets all the requirements to become a significant tourist attraction for Polish travelers in the coming years,” the GNTO said, adding that the Polish market has been among Greece’s top source markets during the last three years, ranking sixth in terms of arrivals in 2019.

Apart from Psiloritis, the Polish tour operators, bloggers and journalists visited the area’s museums, churches, wineries, dairy plants, cultural sites, traditional local cafes and restaurants, art workshops, hotels, alternative tourism enterprises, archaeological sites and natural monuments.

According to the GNTO, the guests were very impressed by the area’s beauty and one-of-a-kind Cretan hospitality and said that they would share their experience with their business partners and travelers in Poland.
