Travel Industry Developments Take Center Stage at Amadeus Events in Greece, Cyprus

The steps Amadeus has taken to make the implementation of the NDC standard smoother and more successful for the travel industry, were recently presented to partners of the leading travel technology company in Greece and Cyprus. NDC is the IATA New Distribution Capability technical standard.

Amadeus’ update on the NDC standard, as well as on all the latest developments in the travel industry, took place during a series of events it organized for its partners in Cyprus and the Greek cities of Thessaloniki and Athens.

During the events, which took place in November and December, the company also presented its improved solution offering and its latest news.

“Our goal has always been to follow the changes in the industry and adjust our solutions and products immediately and effectively, offering our partners with the competitive advantage that will support their growth, offer improved services and maximise their performance and value,” Eva Karamanou, General Manager Greece & Cyprus and Deputy Regional Manager Southern Europe, said.

During the events, Karamanou spoke in detail on the NDC topic and all the latest developments around it and informed about the changes coming into the travel industry through the evolution of technology and the way traveler’s expectations are going to change as a result of these changes.

Aiming to tackle the issue, during the events, Amadeus presented the products and solutions it offers as a trusted partner of the travel market, in parallel with the capabilities opening up with the adoption of the Amadeus Travel Platform. The integrated platform is based on open systems and its goal is to bring together content from every source in a holistic and efficient manner, giving customers the chance to better service travelers and transform their business processes and practices, as well as the way they do business in the travel landscape.

Executives from the local Amadeus offices and the local travel agencies attended the events in both Greece and Cyprus.

“Through these events our company was able to inform partners of the approach we follow, that leverages on all the available channels in the different stages of the journey to facilitate their offered services, while positioning their brand in the travel landscape correctly,” Karamanou said, adding that Amadeus gives its partners the ability to upgrade the travel experience of their customers, personalizing their offering with an omni-channel approach.
