New Travel Trends on the Agenda of SETE 2019 Conference
The new travel trends as well as the priorities that tourism enterprises need to set, will be on the focus of the annual conference of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) titled, “Redefining Realities: #someREACTdifferent”, which will be held in Athens, on October 17.
“After the success of last year’s revamped event, which set the foundations for a fruitful discussion on the transition and creativity period the global tourism industry is undergoing, this year’s conference will attempt to redefine the tourism reality, based on the new travel trends,” SETE said in an announcement.
“Travelers are seeking for new, special, authentic, unforgettable and sustainable life experiences in places that extend beyond the classic tourist destinations. They travel consciously and more often. They go on shorter trips, combine business and leisure, often travel off season, and choose places that provide them with the ideal material for their Instagram feed. We live in times of big change and travel is no exception.”
World-renowned personalities from the fields of entrepreneurship and tourism will, once again, participate in SETE’s conference in order to convey stories that inspire, as well as innovative ideas and best development practices.
Among the speakers of this year’s event will be Patrik Gustavsson, general manager of the Amager Bakke Foundation; Douglas Quinby, co-founder and CEO of Arival; Steve Lowy, co-founder of Umi Digital and CEO of Anglo Educational Services; Catharina Fischer, social media/online strategist, entrepreneur, mentor and speaker; and Alejandro Barrera, founder and editor-in-chief of The Aleph.
The conference will be moderated by Paul Papadimitriou, founder of Intelligencr.
The conference will take place at the Hilton Athens Hotel, with the collaboration of marketing destination agency Toposophy and weareJARVIS, the new content studio of technology hub Found.ation.
