CNT: Santorini’s ‘Istoria’ Hotel Among the Coolest New Island Hideouts for 2019
The Istoria Hotel, a high-end hospitality property located on the island of Santorini, has been included on the list of the Coolest New Island Hideouts for 2019, which was published in the June issue of the Condé Nast Traveller (CNT).
Istoria Hotel has been created by Antonis and Kalia Eliopoulos with the aim to offer its guests the opportunity to create their own “istoria” (meaning history and story in Greek) on Santorini.
The property is among the island’s newest additions, as it opened its doors in 2018. Located on Perivolos beach, on the island’s northeastern side, Istoria used to be an old “palazzo” owned by a noblewoman. Following extensive renovation work, the hotel today features 12 suites, each with a private balcony and some with a private jacuzzi or pool.
“We feel excited that Istoria, a member of the Design Hotels, is among the best hotels on the Greek islands for 2019, according to Condé Nast Traveller,” Kalia Eliopoulos told GTP Headlines.
Earlier this year, Istoria had been included on the “2019 It List” of the “Travel + Leisure” magazine, as one of the best new hotels in the world.
“Istoria is the newest addition to our many years of hospitality experience and such distinctions give us the will and the motivation to continue working hard in order to broaden our horizons,” she added.
Istoria is a member of Design Hotels, a Berlin-based hospitality services company that markets some 300 independent hotels in over 60 countries, including Greece.
Istoria’s owners Kalia and Antonis Eliopoulos, are also the people behind Santorini’s luxury hotels Mystique and Vedema.
This summer, the family group is planning to expand its presence to the island of Paros with the Parīlio, also a member of the Design hotels.
