Aria Hotels, a family-owned boutique hotel and villas company that offers holidaymakers authentic Greek hospitality in carefully selected destinations in Greece, is inviting travelers to get to know the island of Kimolos this year.

Aria Hotels Kimolos 2018A member of the Cyclades group, Kimolos is a small island but has a long history throughout the centuries and offers many alternative choices for travelers that decide to pay the destination a visit.

The presence of Aria Hotels on Kimolos goes back to 2010 with the opening of the Windmill, one of the few traditionally restored windmills in Greece dating from 1852. Today, the company owns and operates ten exclusive properties: The Windmill, Thalassa Beach House, Milaki, Bonatsa Beach House (featuring also B3 Bonatsa Beach Bar), Alikaki, Kimolos Blue (featuring also a swimming pool and Blue Tavern) and Psathi Blue Ι, Psathi Blue II, Psathi Blue III and Aria Kimolos Residence.

Aiming to promote Kimolos to travelers from all over the world and also extend the tourism season, Aria Hotels is supporting many events – from cinema nights to athletic activities – that are taking place on the island in 2018.

Special Tip: Explore Kimolos island by renting a car with My Kimolos Car, an affiliate partner of Aria Hotels.

Discovering Kimolos

Kimolos is 36 square kilometers in extent, with a coastline that stretches for 38 km and includes many bays, sandy and rocky beaches and numerous sea caves. Its shape resembles a pentagon and its terrain has many hills. Kimolos’ highest peak is Paliokastro at 365m of elevation.

The largest square – the School – offers a breathtaking view and proves to be an ideal spot to watch the full moon of August rising.

Kimolos’ smaller settlements – Psathi (port), Goupa, Kara, Prassa, Aliki, Bonatsa and Dekas – are inhabited mainly in the summer, while in the winter few of them have residents.

Travelers that are interested in learning all they can about the island can visit the new Archaeological Museum located opposite the church of Odigitria, the Folklore Museum in the island’s Castle and the Maritime Museum.

Of course, as any of the Greek islands in the Aegean Sea, Kimolos has many unique and remote sandy beaches that its guest can explore and relax without the pressure of the crowds that other popular islands have. Some of the most popular beaches are Bonatsa, Aliki, Rema and Klima.

Sea taxis, offering island tours to the beaches of the north side of the island, are available. Guests can also visit the islands of Polyaigos, Milos or the neighboring island of Sifnos.

The island also has several trekking routes that give access to every corner of the island.
