‘Navarino Challenge’ Adds Beach Volley to 2018 Olympic Sports Activities

“Navarino Challenge”, the award-winning sports event that promotes fair play and aims to extend the tourism season, has announced the addition of beach volley to its program of activities this year.

In its sixth year, the “Navarino Challenge will take place October 12-14 at Messinia and Costa Navarino in the Peloponnese. The event’s main activities include running, swimming and Stand Up Paddling (SUP) by BIC® Sport.

With the addition of volleyball to its program, the “Navarino Challenge” now boasts 12 Olympic sports events.

On the occasion, the “Navarino Challenge” will host Michalis Triantafyllidis, one of the greatest volleyball players in Greek history. The “Navarino Challenge” is the sports tourism event with the most Olympic ambassadors.

“I find it very important that beach volley is included this year in the program of an already very successful event, such as the Navarino Challenge,” Triantafyllidis said.

The attendance of Triantafyllidis comes as part of the addition of a tournament to “Navarino Challenge” named the King & Queen Beach Volley Tournament by Triantafyllidis Beach Arena and the beach volley courses by Triantafyllidis Beach Arena.

“I think we will have the best possible organization at both the beach volleyball tournament ‘King & Queen Beach Volley’ and the beach volleyball training courses. I hope it will become a part of the successful organization,” he added.

The former Greek national volleyball player holds the record of participations in the Greek National Team (top-ranked 1st in the European Cup at 1987) and holds the most titles of an athlete in volleyball and beach volley in Greece.
