GTP Participates in SETE’s ‘On Tour’ Tourism School Initiative
The Greek Travel Pages (GTP) will pass on its expertise on content creation and online media promotion during the “OnTour” Tourism School initiative events, currently running by the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE).
The “OnTour” Tourism School initiative is a new educational, non-profit action launched by the SETE Institute (INSETE), through its educational pillar, SETE Training, in partnership with the Kalamata School of Tourism.
The initiative provides seminars in various Greek destinations and touches on a series of tourism industry topics, focuses on the latest trends, brings local communities of destinations together, helps to develop synergies and highlight the values of volunteering and competition.
The first events took place successfully on the island of Poros and in the Katerini beach area of Mount Olympos and included 14 specialized seminars by experts in tourism, technology, food and education. The speakers focused on a variety of topics such as Content Creation, Complaint Management, Search Engine Optimization and Destination Branding. Over 260 tourism professionals in both destinations attended the seminars.
GTP gives tips to Poros’ tourism professionals
GTP’s sales & advertising manager, Charis Brousalian and executive, Christina Vassou attended the “OnTour” Tourism School event on Poros and gave tourism professionals insight on the role of online media in promoting content and tips on content creation, promotion of content and the role of social media. GTP’s representatives gave a full presentation on how professionals can increase quality traffic and generate bookings by boosting online sales.
“For the first time, GTP is participating in SETE’s training activities through the ‘OnTour’ Tourism School,” Brousalian said.
Each event is coordinated by a local volunteer team headed by a Local Ambassador and addressed to all those who directly or indirectly work and influence the tourist product and services of the destination.
Poros’ Local Ambassador was Dimitris Sikseris, the president of the island’s trading association.
“We would like to thank Poros’ Local Ambassador for welcoming us with great pleasure and giving us the opportinity to inform the island’s professionals on GTP’s new products and how they could benefit from our media network. It was a great pleasure to speak with everyone, to inform them on new market conditions and of course answer their questions. We promise that we will stand next to the local community to promote healthy tourism in Greece and abroad.”
GTP will participate in the two next “OnTour” Tourism School events on Skiathos (May 7-8) and Chios (May 15-16).
All events have free entrance and are held under the academic auspices of the International University of Greece. The initiative is sponsored by Aegean Airlines, Communication Effect and E-Survey.
