SWISS Offers Travelers Tastes from Switzerland
As part of its efforts to provide its passengers with new gastronomic experiences, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) is offering Obwalden specialties and “SWISS Traditions” meals on board.
In accordance to its “SWISS Taste of Switzerland” program, the airline is providing First and Business Class guests on long-haul flights from Switzerland, culinary delights from Canton Obwalden in collaboration with the Hotel frutt Lodge & Spa. The new delicacies will be served until early September.
For SWISS Business travellers, the four-star hotel’s chef Andreas Appenzeller has created a starter of smoked Balik salmon tartare with sour cream, while his main courses include a beef tenderloin with thyme sauce, Obwalden semolina slice and summer vegetables. SWISS’s First Class customers can enjoy a starter of lobster ragout with sea buckthorn coulis, pepper mousse and chutney and a main course of pike-perch fillets with chive oil, creamy risotto and red wine-glazed pearl onions.
SWISS highlights the Wrestling and Alpine Festival
As part of its “SWISS Traditions” program and on the occasion of Central Switzerland’s Wrestling and Alpine Festival, SWISS will be serving special meals in Business Class on flights in Europe between June 21 and July 4. The culinary treats will include Obwalden dry-cured ham with sliced cheese and a tomato salsa.
The Wrestling and Alpine Festival will be held in Alpnach on 2 July 2.
