Aqua Gallery Connects Greek Hospitality with Fine Art on Santorini

The Aqua Gallery, Aqua Vista Hotels‘ impressive new art space on Santorini, hosted its first art show with a bang on Sunday, May 7.

Housed in the Art Hotel at Pyrgos, Santorini, the Aqua Gallery hosted the group exhibition entitled “From Athens to Santorini: Greeks artists’ trips” in collaboration with the Eos art gallery and curated by art historian, Marina Kanakaki. Twenty talented Greek artists submitted their original work to the exhibition, giving guests the opportunity to take a fascinating journey into the contemporary Greek art scene.

“The opening of the Aqua Gallery demonstrates Aqua Vista Hotels’ unique approach to hospitality in the most realistic manner possible,” said Sofia Matzourani, Business Development Manager of Aqua Vista Hotels, when referring to the Aqua Gallery’s opening.

Most of the contributing artists attended the Aqua Gallery’s grand opening, which drew a great deal of attention and attracted the Art Hotel’s guests, visitors to the island of Santorini, locals, the island’s regional authorities and executives of Aqua Vista Hotels.

The venue received rave reviews from visitors and many commented on the high standards of the event which were similar to the quality of exhibitions held in Athens.

“The guests of the Art Hotel and the general public will have the wonderful opportunity to get to know Greece’s extensive hospitality by exploring the contemporary artistic identity of our country at the Aqua Gallery,” Matzourani said.

The group exhibition “From Athens to Santorini: Greeks artists’ trips” is the first of a series of events that will open at the Aqua Gallery within the framework of the art platform #Rest@rt.
