GB Roof Garden Restaurant Honored By Wine Spectator Magazine
The GB Roof Garden restaurant of the Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens was recently named among the “Award of Excellence” recipients of Wine Spectator magazine’s annual Restaurant Wine List Awards program.
Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Wine List Awards recognize restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers.
The GB Roof Garden is one of two restaurants in Athens that were included in the Wine Spectator’s list for having one of the most outstanding restaurant wine lists in the world.
“This honor is an inspiration for further successes and confirms the Hotel Grande Bretagne’s continuous effort for exceptional services and products,” the hotel said in an announcement.
To qualify for an award, a restaurant’s wine list must present complete, accurate wine information. It must include vintages and appellations for all selections, including wines available by the glass. Complete producer names and correct spellings are mandatory, while the overall presentation and appearance of the list is also taken into consideration.
Wine Spectator is a lifestyle magazine and since 1976 focuses on the culture of wine. It publishes 15 issues per year and includes news, articles, and many comments and evaluations on wines. It was ranked by the Luxury Institute as the #1 among several business and consumer publications.
