Tall Sailing Ship Runs Greek Island Cruises

As of this summer, the Star Flyer, a tall sailing cruise ship, runs a cruise from Piraeus every Saturday to the islands of Mykonos, Chios, Kusadasi, Patmos, Sifnos and Kea. Its alternate program includes the islands of Hydra, Santorini, Rodos, Bodrum and Paros.

All are lately built and possess all modern technology. Each accommodates some 200 passengers and each is furnished with the classic-style wood that makes for a friendly environment, complete with all modern comforts. They sail routes from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean and the Far East.

Recently, the line inaugurated its third, largest and most luxurious ship, the Royal Clipper, which is the largest true sailing ship in the world. It is equipped with a health club and hairdresser and is like a modern cruise boat, but with a unique sailing boat atmosphere. Cabins include television, marble bathroom, private safe, direct-dial telephone and elegant furnishings.

Common areas include swimming pools, a piano bar, a tropical bar and a library.
