August Full Moon Free Events at Sites, Museums in Greece

Over one hundred archaeological sites, monuments and museums will be open across Greece with free admission during the evening of Monday, August 7, in celebration of the August full moon.

A total of 93 events will take place at 115 locations, as the country’s Central Archaeological Council gave the “green light” for events to take place, including concerts, dancing, art exhibitions, theater performances, movie screenings, poetry readings, guided tours and many more.

Furthermore, 22 sites and museums will operate on longer hours to welcome visitors.

The Acropolis in Athens, on August 7 will remain open until 8 pm and the Sounio archaeological site until midnight.

According to reports, last year more than 63,700 people participated in 82 events, which were held at 116 archaeological sites, monuments and museum across Greece.
