Ikaria Comes to Athens for Three-day Expo
The North Eastern Aegean island of Ikaria will be showcased this week in the multipurpose area of the Athens metro at Syntagma Square.
The promotional event will take place from May 29 until May 30 and aim to promote Ikaria as an ideal tourism destination through the display of its natural advantages and products of the primary sector.
Opening hours are 11am – 3pm.
The Ikaria mini-expo is part of the “Crete and the Aegean Islands 2007-2013” project, co-funded by the NSRF and supervised by the Municipality of Samos.
Famed for its relaxed pace, its famous panigiria (festivals) and its unusual longevity of its inhabitants, Ikaria has become a popular holiday retreat for Greeks and foreign visitors seeking to escape from the stress of the big cities and bustling islands.
