Become a Volunteer for the Athens Half Marathon!

Volunteer registration for the 4th Athens Half Marathon will be available online from January 12.

Athens_Half_Marathon_LogoThe Athens Half Marathon is considered the Greek capital’s biggest sporting event of spring and will take place on Sunday, May 3.

The 4th Athens Half Marathon will start from and finish in front of Syntagma Square and the Greek Parliament. The Half Marathon Race will be held in parallel to a 5km and a 3km Road Race as well as a 1000m Race especially designed for people with disabilities and Special Olympics athletes.

The Volunteering Program aims to offer high quality services to all participant athletes during the race.

The deadline to apply to become a volunteer is April 3.

Volunteers are able to offer their services both during the preparation of the event as well as the day of the race.

Preparation period (April 30th-May 2nd 2015)
– Registration Center
(Volunteers help runners to collect their bib numbers and race packages).

Race Day (Sunday May 3rd, 2015)
– Starting Area (Syntagma)
(Volunteers form human chains between the starting blocks where all runners are allocated according to their bib number)
– Feed Zones
(Volunteers supply runners with bottles of water and isotonic drinks).
– Finish Area (Syntagma)
(Spectator services, access control, bottles of water and isotonic drinks distribution, press services, medal distribution, clothing management etc.)

Volunteer positions are limited and will be given strictly in order of priority entries. Those interested to volunteer should register on time.
