Porto Carras Grand Resort Receives Three Green Key Awards For 2014
The Porto Carras Grand Resort complex in Halkidiki, Greece, recently received another distinction as three of its hotels were honored with the eco-quality Green Key Eco Label for another consecutive year.
The five-star hotels Porto Carras Meliton and Porto Carras Sithonia and the prestigious Villa Galini were assessed for all environmental effects on both plant management and the training of human resources, customers, suppliers, partners and the local community.
Presented annualy by the National Operator Greek Association for the Protection of Nature (HSPN), the Green Key Awards globally represent the symbol of quality environmental education and environmental management (eco-label) of hotel facilities. The awards show the responsibility of the business towards the environment and the whole society.
According to an announcement, the three Green Key Awards for 2014 reward the coordinated actions of the Porto Carras Grand Resort management for the last 14 years that aim to develop an investment program as an eco-tourism destination that is a record in Greece.
The Porto Carras complex features: desalination plant and marine production of drinking water, tertiary treatment plant, organic farming, development of flora, fauna protection, recycling and systematic quality control of products. Moreover, the resort is awarded annually with the Blue Flag mark for the three beaches and the marina.
