Amadeus Announces New President
Amadeus, a leading travel technology partner and transaction processor for the global travel and tourism industry, announced last month that Luis Maroto, former Deputy CEO of Amadeus, has replaced David V. Jones as President and CEO of the company.
“It is an honor for me to take on the position of President and CEO of Amadeus and I take up this challenge with huge enthusiasm and look forward to working with our customers, employees and investors in this exciting and growing industry,” Luis Maroto said about his new role.
From January 2009 to December 2010, Mr. Maroto was deputy CEO of Amadeus, with global responsibility for the strategy of the company from the financial, internal audit, legal and human resources perspectives.
Mr. Maroto joined Amadeus in 1999 as Director, Marketing Finance and was promoted in 2003 to chief financial officer.
A Spanish citizen, Luis holds a degree in Law from the Complutense University, Madrid, an MBA from the IESE Business School and further postgraduate qualifications from Harvard Business School and Stanford.
